10 ‘The Simpsons’ Hidden Easter Eggs Only True Fans Have Noticed

If you haven’t revisited The Simpsons since you grew up, you need to. Little did us kids know, it’s not senseless comedy. There are so many hidden gems in this show, it’s almost impossible to find them all. Instead, here are our favorite ten.

1. The Simpsons recreate historical photos. All the time.

In “Lisa the Beauty Queen,” Lisa was sworn in as the new Miss Springfield. The scene is eerily similar to when Lyndon Johnson was sworn in as President after the assassination of JFK.

This one’s the alternate angle on a classic Woodstock snap, with Grandma Simpson posing grumpily in the background.

The above photo perfectly captures the Fall of Saigon during the Vietnam War. The Simpsons’ creators thought it was so memorable they reenacted it that time the Simpson family escaped from the Australians.

“The Weeping Frenchman” captured the heartbreak of this man whose country was being overrun by Nazis. Milhouse does it almost as well.
