Red Dead Redemption, it was and still is the western of the last Gen consoles. An open world game which was a twist of GTA, released by none other Rockstar. With the game being a big success, there is rumor in the mill which suggests Read Dead Redemption will be making a reappearance soon.
We haven’t seen a Read Dead game since the release in 2010; it offered a different take on an open world shooter. We had become used to the True Crimes, GTA and other modern day open world games and Red dead breathed new life into the sector.
Back in 2012, Rockstar dismissed talks it would not make a new Red Dead when they said
“We don’t always rush to make sequels but that does not mean that we won’t get back to them eventually. Stay tuned for further announcements about the future of Red Dead series”.
Towards the end of last year, the developer revealed they have been working on “the next version of a famous IP” since June 2010. According to sources, we have been told this is Red Dead Redemption 2.
Along with this, we also lead to believe the next Read Dead Game may not actually be called RDR2. Rockstar want to rename the franchise when it comes to announcing it for next-gen consoles, although this of course could change when making a formal announcement.
So when can we expect to an announcement? According to Colin Sebastian, an analyst at Baird Equity Research, Red Dead Redemption 2 will be announced by the end of 2014
with a possible release in Q3 of 2015.
As we find out more information about the possible return of the series, we will update you.
In the meantime, let us know your thoughts; do you want to see the franchise return?
