Latest Eve Online battle Captures 15,000 New Signups


The chart above, presented today by CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Petursson, shows us the number of accounts for EVE over the game’s 10-year history. The light blue is subscribers, the dark blue trial accounts.

As you can see from the spike in 2014,  That is the direct result of the massive battle in EVE Online which took place last week, you can check out the battle in HD (Link below). When a missed bill payment caused havoc throughout the entire virtual solar system and everything thing was up for grabs.

In real world terms, the ships lost in that battle neared $300,000, drawing a massive influx of attention from major news outlets and capturing the interest of around 15,000 folks who signed up for a free trial to see what all the fuss was about.

The mass battle has helped strengthen the on-line universe and 15,000 new pilots who now roam the open space.
