14 Easy Ways To Make Healthy Choices

Making the healthy choice is sometimes very, very difficult. However these healthy tips should help you achieve your goal weight a little easier.  You may feel a bit pretentious blotting your pizza but every little dab will help.

1. Blot the hell out of that pizza. Do it now.

There you have it, the anatomy of a pizza and how blotting can shed almost 2 pounds.

2. Always, always, always make a list.

Making a list and sticking to it will instantly stop impulse buys. Of course the impulse buys are normally chocolate.

3. Water, water everywhere.

Our bodies often mistake dehydration for hunger. Set a water goal for the day and it will not only clear your mind, it will stop you from unnecessary snacking.

4. Don’t stay up too late.

When you have a good night’s sleep, you are less likely to binge.  Research has shown that sleep and appetite are linked to the same part of the brain.  If you are sleep-deprived, hormones will spike in your body telling you that you are hungry.

5. Pack your lunch the night before.

This handy tip will not only save you money, but it is a great way to stick to the diet.

6. Don’t allow for distractions whilst eating.

If you eat in front of the television or computer, you are less likely to register how much you are eating. That’s why people can eat a bucket of popcorn at the movies.

7. Eat on time.

It may not always be feasible, but try and eat at the same time every day. You should be eating every 2-3 hours to speed up your metabolism.

8. Have a serving of fruit or vegetables with every meal.

You know what the doctor says.  Five servings of fruit or vegetables can seem like a lot but if you spread it across several meals in the day it is a lot easier to digest.

9. Portion control.

Oprah preaches portion control…and good grief does she know what she is talking about. Portion sizes may differ for everyone but if you need help, Google is your best friend.

10. Buy frozen vegetables.

Frozen vegetables are equally delicious and nutritious as fresh vegetables. It’s an affordable way to keep healthy snacks from spoiling.

11. Try not to eat before bed.

Try not to eat at least 2-3 hours before you go to bed. The argument that eating before bed makes you gain weight is false. However, the snacks and meals we choose to eat just before bed are often unhealthy. Try and avoid the temptation by picking a time and not eating after it.

12. Eat snacks all the time.

Pack high protein snacks for the day and devour them all day. Eating every hour will stop you from over eating at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

13. Have a workout buddy.

Having someone to exercise with is a huge motivator. It means you have a united goal and it makes you responsible for not only your health but your friend’s as well.

14. Swap it out.

Yeah, even we can admit that swapping potato chips for snap peas is not great. However, if you are serious, you will let go of that salty treat for just a little while as you try and reach your target weight.
