10 Times TV Shows Genuinely Predicted The Future

These ten television predictions were crazy accurate.

1. Homer discovers the Higgs boson particle years before physicists at CERN.

Homer Simpson might just be the world’s most misunderstood genius. Ten years before scientists at CERN discovered the Higgs boson particle, an episode of The Simpsons predicted the mass of the Higgs boson particle that one scientist says wasn’t actually that far off.

“If you work it out, you get the mass of a Higgs boson that’s only a bit larger than the nano-mass of [what] a Higgs boson actually is. It’s kind of amazing as Homer makes this prediction 14 years before it was discovered.”

2. Person of Interest predicts future NSA surveillance.

In one episode of the show, a man named Henry Peck discovers that the NSA is conducting illegal mass surveillance on citizens and blows the proverbial whistle by going to the media.

3. The Chris Rock Show saw O.J.’s book coming a mile away.

During an episode of the show, Chris Rock pulled out a fictional instructional VHS video from O.J. Simpson titled “I Didn’t Kill My Wife… But If I Did, Here’s How I’d Do it”. The laughter turned into eerie reality in 2007 when O.J. Simpson was involved with a real book titled “If I Did It, Here’s How It Happened”.

4. The Simpsons asked the hard questions about the contents of meat before anyone else.

Over a decade before a scandal erupted in Europe concerning the high levels of horse meat used in beef-labeled products, The Simpsons had already been there, and predicted that.

5. Quantum Leap predicts Super Bowl XXX.

In the second season of this time traveling show, Al is watching Super Bowl XXX and states that the Steelers are three points behind. This exact Super Bowl occurred six years later. The game did involve the Steelers and they were trailing the Cowboys 20-17 midway through the fourth quarter.

6. An episode of Family Guy foreshadows Robin Williams’ suicide.

Season ten of Family Guy features a suicide attempt by Robin Williams. Unfortunately, a rerun episode of the show was aired on BBC Three about five minutes before news of the actors death hit the news.

7. Spooks gets the London bombing spot on before it happened.

This drama about MI-5 agents aired an episode only months before the London Underground bombings showing a near identical event taking place.

8. The cast of Scrubs knew where Osama was hiding.

The Janitor from Scrubs states in an episode of the show “in my opinion we should be looking for Bin Laden in Pakistan”. In 2011, that’s exactly where he was found.

9. The Lone Gunmen predicts 9/11.

In this X-Files spin off, the show correctly predicted a commercial airline being flown into the World Trade Center. However, in that version of events the government planned the attack in order to increase the defense budget.

10. Donald Trump runs for President in The Simpsons.

In the year 2000, The Simpsons predicted that Donald Trump would be a lousy president and would leave the country broke – It might be time to listen to The Simpsons.
