A gameplay “teaser” was released by Square Enix for the upcoming ‘Hitman: Absolution’, but if you were expecting to see any form of sneakiness, the 60 sec clip didn’t show much in that respect. However, Machinima posted the full 16 minute ‘Run For Your Life’ trailer ahead of the general release to press. Contrary to the title, the trailer features Agent 47 sneaking around in a derelict Library and employing his neck snapping talents more than actual running. But there is still plenty of evasion and sneaking.

Agent 47 seems to move more fluidly in Absolution, provided that he lurks among the chest high walls in which the new cover system comes into play. Added to the cover system comes the ‘Instinct’ system, allowing the player to see potential victims through walls and highlights their path of movement. Whether Hitman fans digest this positively seems uncertain. Artstyle wise, it looks more like Kane and Lynch or Batman than the original iterations and I like it. Its dark and moody, the heavy rain creating suspense and atmosphere almost out of Gotham city itself.
