Electronic Arts Sues Fitness Company Named EA Over Logo

Video game publisher Electronic Arts or EA is taking a fitness supplies company also named “EA” to court over a strikingly similar logo. The fitness supplies company goes by the name “Energy Armor” and appear to be completely ripping off the original logo from Electronic Arts.

Eletronic Arts want all products with the similar logo destroyed and to have “all profits generated by Energy Armor using the logo”. This means every product they’ve ever sold since it’s their logo.

We did a bit of Googling and found that Energy Armor is actually quite a large company and sells those small bracelets that you wear on your arm to ‘improve performance’ in sports. Now there aren’t too many ways of putting the letters E and A into a logo so we can’t blame them for this. Considering Electronic Arts and Energy Armor sell their products in completely different markets, this may not come to the conclusion Electronic Arts are expecting.

  1. I’d be amazed if Electronic Arts actually won. I for one think the whole lawsuit is bogus and shouldn’t even be happening. The logos are similar as to the letter(them being E and A). But they’re completely different otherwise.
