HMZ-T1 – Sony’s Head-Mounted 3D Visor Launching in Japan
It appears that Sony’s head-mounted 3D visor with futuristic blue front facing L.E.D lights will become a real product. A prototype of the HMZ-T1 was shown off at CES and grabbed the attention of many with its striking looks. Sony has announced the prototype will be made into a real product and released firstly in Japan on November 11, 2011, the same date as Skyrim. The price is expected to be around 60,000 yen or around USD $780
The HMZ-T1 features two 1280×720 0.7-inch OLED panels which will fit your eyes perfectly and 5.1 surround sound via the speakers integrated on the system. The unit will come with a processor that enables HDMI output/input.
We have achieved a wide horizontal viewing angle of 45 degrees by incorporating an optical lens that thoroughly suppresses unwanted elements such as aberration and distortion. Viewers can now enjoy watching video on a movie theater-like big-screen (750-inch virtual screen, virtual viewing distance approx. 20m)
